About us

The Australian Mussel Industry Association (AMIA) was formed to lead and support the development of the  Mussel industry in Australia.

Mussel growers from around the country  come together  under the umbrella of  the AMIA a  national body that  enables us to plan and work together to  address the many challenges and opportunities we face.

The AMIA has a mission to:

• Work collaboratively with mussel growers  from all regions across Australia
• Provide strong leadership and effective governance for the mussel industry.
• Provide representation and advocacy for mussel growers to external stakeholders, industry partners, governments and the broader community.
• Communicate our environmental and product stewardship  practices throughout the supply chain
• Develop and implement Research and Development plans and projects for industry to promote investment and boost discovery and adoption of innovation by producers and chain partners.
• Promote the benefits of Australian Blue mussels to our markets and the community.
